Hi, my name's Manuela Emili, I'm an osteopath.

Osteopathy is a form of manipulative medicine.

The word Osteopathy derives from the Greek word Osteon which means bone and from the English word path: a path through which it is possible to maintain a good health treating the muscoloskeletal system

The osteopathy was codified at the beginning of 1800 (eighteen hundred) by the American doctor Andrew Taylor Still according to 3 main rules:

  • The rule of the artery according to which health is influenced by the good movement of body fluids;
  • Structure governs function;
  • Stimulation of the mechanisms of self-regulation and self-repair.

    I've become interested in osteopathy because:

  • - It is little invasive;
  • - It considers the body as a unit and it asks itself why we have pain;
  • - It doesn't treat symptomatologically;
  • - It has few contraindications.

    • The osteopath's examination consists of:

  • - A careful medical history beginning from the birth;
  • - Test for the assessment of the symptom;
  • - Corrective manipulations which, according to the case, are made to bones, joints, muscles, fasciae, cranium, central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, stomatognathic apparatus;
  • - Gentle corrective manipulations;
  • - Test fort the assessment of the improvement.
